Do you use Game Guides?

do you use either game guide books or sites like gamefaqs? do you think that Game Guides are a waste of time and money? Do you think otherwise? Do you not think? If so, post here!

LONG VERSION

Well. This is how I think of it, one person buys the book. Then some random dude asks about something online. The person posts the guide's info and then it's there for the world to see. Also, They are kind of expensive seeing as they cost half as much as the game itself. Also, I do not to get every little thing out of my game. If I have a pokemon based question, then what are Serebii, Bulbpedia, and Pokemon.com for. Finally, as you said there are websites like gamefaqs for a reason. Normally I would never use anything to play my games, but if I need money or upgrades of some sort, or even if I need to do something quick, I'll use a website. I would never buy the expensive guides for books though.



Wasn't that long?? That was basically the same thing over and over again.

SHORT VERSION

Most if not all guides are expensive! I can always find something helpful online if I'm desperate. Don't buy guides!

u no how theres a guide on gamefaqs listing the exact location of all "hidded items" in platinum? the ones u can find with the dowsing mchn poketch app? i cant wait till someone makes one for hg/ss.

Yeah. But I just find most of them when I hatch eggs/ev train. I put the scanner on and run into items!!

The only time I've ever used a game guide was for Fallout. The game is so vast that I really needed help finding the bobbleheads & stuff. But in my honest opionion, I think they are a waste of money.

I think that you shouldn't need to use the game FAQ because if you do I think it is totally not worth it because I like beating the gAme all by myself

I agree. It's just all the things you need to do listed. I can find anything online, though it is just like letting someone beat the game for you.

Cause you buy the game....you buy the guide......you read the guide.....you see all the game has to offer(it makes it look really boring and small)........you throw everything away.

Actually, no. Any Game Guide Book ever made was made by the companies who developed the games (or are liscensed by the game creators).

actually there are also a lot of game companies that let anyone do it now so srry but no it isnot only the game companies
